How long will these actually last? I've had cheap ones break after one trip.
That's the most common complaint in this category and it's a fair thing to ask. The failure point on cheap bags is almost always the seal — thin plastic zippers that stop closing flush after a few uses.

What if I lose the pump or forget to charge it?
You've got two backups. The one-way valve lets you push air out by rolling or squeezing the bag by hand — takes about a minute longer. Or use any household vacuum with a hose attachment, which works just as well as the pump.

Won't my luggage still be too heavy?
